Obituary for Candace Lea Kortekaas (Gusse)

Candace Lea Kortekaas, daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, 61 of Cohasset, MN, passed away Friday April 17, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Candace was born on June 15, 1953 in Grand Rapids, MN. to Donald and Joyce Powers Gusse and had been a lifelong resident. She was a graduate to Grand Rapids High School. She also attended Itasca Community College as an older student.
She was formerly employed at Grand Itasca Hospital in the call center.
Candace enjoyed her flowers, friends and doing things with her family. She loved to travel which included England, Mexico, the east and west coast and especially Montana, where she enjoyed walking in Glacier National park. She also loved Lake Superior and made a trip there every year around her birthday. She had a love for music especially the Beatles.
She leaves behind her parents Donald and Joyce Gusse of Richmond, TX; loving husband Richard (Rick) of Cohasset, MN; sons Adam of Grand Rapids, MN, Richard Jr. (Jen) of Wadsworth, Ohio; daughter Erika Thompson of Grand Rapids, MN; brother Mark Gusse of Richmond, TX; sisters Jayne (Bill) Conrad of Queen Creek, AZ, Terri (Lance) Schultz of Grand Rapids, MN; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service: 11 AM Friday May 1, 2015 with a gathering of friends one hour prior to the service all at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Cohasset, MN. See online family guestbook at Arrangements by Andrews-Libbey Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 218-326-4000.
